I have a secret love affair with Bears. My first experience preceded the creation of the bronze "The Bear Hunter."  Since that time my feelings have evolved.  I love the shapes of bears, their antics, the way they play, the humor found in their spirit, their immensity and the vast number of positions they assume.  This piece, like "The Early Bear," depicts a single moment in time.  For this Grizzly, the only thing that exists is the sockeye salmon and his combined frustration, puzzlement and desire for food.  I pictured this piece in my mind's eye before creating it.  The vision of it made my heart smile.
